...which would be a better school to go to for Biomedical Engineering: the University of Rochester or the Columbia University School of General Studies?

columbia
really depends on what you wanna do though...

Coins don't lie.

You can't apply to Columbia's School of General Studies as a high school senior. You have to take at least a year off and then apply. Also, I would recommend you not to do general study. If you want to go to med school or other professional school, Rochester might be a better choice. General Studies won't provide you with a very good "name" reputation for grad school entrance, because people know that it's for adults who want a bachelor degree. If all you care about is having an ivy league diploma, then go to Columbia General Studies. On the other hand, if you want to maximize your chance of getting a good paying job upon graduation, go for the engineering degree at University of Rochester.

Maybe you should consider Columbia SEAS instead of General Studies.

I guess I should clarify: I'm 28 and already have a BFA in Writing. The Columbia General Studies program actually seems like it was tailor-made for my situation. I live in Rochester, however, and the cost of living here is way lower than NYC.

what's your reason for going back to school to get another bachelor degree?
