really don’t think you’ll make it. try for some lower level Ivies/state colleges. Do you really see your self as someone who deserves to go to Yale, the most prestigious school in America and top in the world?

I remember there was this kid from SENEGAL who had a big family. He came to this forum and asked to be chanced.
Well, what he did not tell you guys was that he altered his stats just a little bit.

I could not help him with his essay, so I referred him to someone else. Realistically, I knew Yale and Brown were too far for him. I did not stop him from applying though. I really wish I had his stats here, but he had a 3.6gpa and not so good SATs. Took the TOEFL too. Subject scores were not too good. ETC ETC

No Yale, Brown or Columbia. He is studying BME at University of Virginia, and was waitlisted at Notre Dame. From what I know, the UVA experience has helped him. He is too busy to email me now.

Collegeconfidential battered this guy, and do not allow them to do the same. He was basically arguing with people here!
I met the most interesting people here, and I met the most STUPID and ARROGANT rats too. They should not prevent you from applying. At least it will make you hungrier for grad school applications and a high college GPA.

Go for it. All I have to say was I was EATEN alive on here for applying to top ranked universities with slightly below average stats for those schools. Ironically enough, I have had two interviews so far and they have gone great. They definitely felt I was ivy-league qualified and was a very endearing person (one saw my stats and one didn’t). Some portions of the application are subjective and can’t be calculated. Don’t let what people say on here effect you from applying or not. Like I said before, I don’t necessarily have the greatest stats EVER, but both of my interviewers conveyed I would have plenty of choices in the spring. (I guess I will find out soon enough right?)

Take the risk and if you fail, there’s always another alternative route. If you’re a hard-working, motivated individual, one rejection letter won’t hold back your future. If your dream is Yale, keep working at it. You are the dictator of your future. Good luck with everything and I wish you well.

Well to be honest, the fact is that they might see potential in you, but can you handle the coursework? If you have a low GPA at penn state, it is going to raise questions. I think you have a shot, but it doesn’t seem like you have dedicated enough of your time to make yourself appear “qualified”. I think you seem like a very unique individual and they will see that, but they are going to wonder, how can you be successful at Yale (if you aren’t keeping up with the course load at Penn?) The biggest determining factor for colleges in my opinion is how successful the student potentially will be at there college. I might be speaking out of my ass right now, so sorry if it comes out rough.

Numerous people have stated the same thing to me “Can you even handle an ivy league education?”. Personally, I know I can because I attend a high-performing high school and maintain pretty decent grades without a large amount of effort. I don’t mean to offend in anyway with my comments because for all I know you are beyond qualified, but I think that is the only part of your application that the admissions department is going to be questioning.

Yea race… Your credentials are pretty low for Yale standard. They rejcet 4.0 all of the Time. Do you think your 2.77 will do it. There has been a myriad of ppl here telling you that it looks like a long shot for you yet you are oblivious to the comments. It’s as if you just want to here “yes you’ll get in easy” most likely it’s not going to be like that. You have no be realistic c’mon Yale??? 2.77 transfer is life 2%… looks bleak for you.
