My sat is on june 2nd.

So with these do I stand any chance?

Can't say until you post some standardized test scores. They will have to be close to perfect for MIT.

thats a lie. MIT admissions have stated repeatedly that a 2250 counts the same as a 2400. As long as youre in that range you're good.

But, depending on your perspective, 2250 could be "close to perfect"... /nitpicking

Your numbers seem strong, and you seem to have some really cool leadership/EC experiences that you could write about in your essays...I think you definitely stand a shot - just apply! If you don't get in, it's just because international admissions are crazy-crazy competitive.

Good luck!

how is an 83% an A...

ajayc is studying in India where grading is a lot more harsh. Failing would be 35 and below. Above 75 is generally considered an A although we don't really use grades here.

agreed complete,y with you fuzzy. there is also no concept of GPA. to put it in perspective, a 80+ would easily be an A/A+ in the grade system.

well my first choice is Embry Riddle but yes I will be applying to MIT too to see where I stand .... lol

Yes 75+ is an A in CBSE (I think). Also only final exam grades I believe matter (at least when I was studying in India)

yeah only the final exam grades matter as they cover the whole syllabus at once and have max marks as 100

so after discussing my grades, someone tell me if i stand a chance!

You do. But so do a lot of people, especially in the international pool. Apply, see what happens, and don't let the outcome make or break you.

Does Cornell have a cap for international students ?

how does Cornell come into the picture here?

Oops wrong thread.

I have an avg of 2250 on SAT practice tests now. Lets see what happens on the real one....

btw I just had a few questions, I have this gaming site on http://evolution-gaming.clans.net <---server down now i guess and www.cutlersoftware.com/evolution <--Just changed the CMS to Joomla.

I still havent got sponsors or something but should I mention this in my ECs?

I had participated in Nasa student involvement program but the certificate got lost on its way, indian postal system rocks!, and now NASA has discontinued the project due to budget cuts. Should i tell this? or will they consider I am lying about it? I have no proof.....except a pair of space shuttle cuff links they sent me!!!

Lastly I have my own Linux Distro should I send along a CD?

Cheers!!!
