I think I consistently spelled "Pennsylvania" wrong on the application =(

lol haha, i didn’t really misspell that.

but i referred to Penn as “the University of Pennsylvania”
is this the correct way to refer to it? do we really need the definite article before the name?

do people just say, “I went to University of Pennsylvania”

or do they say “I went to the University of Pennsylvania”

are you serious?

i am as serious as serious gets

I'm seriouser.

uhhh, I used "the University of Pennsylvania" and "Penn," and I got in, so I must've done something right.

People might say "I went to University of Pennsylvania" if they're Russian or Korean or some other language that lacks articles...

What if you sent them an email calling them "UPenn"? Honestly, I thought this was the correct acronym for their name! But I sent the email two weeks ago and they have yet to respond - have I been blacklisted for not calling them "Penn"?

no cuz i said "UPenn" once and i still got accepted so don't worry about it

I just called it "Penn", cos it sounds like it's a friend of mine, lol

wow...stupid question...

agreed with mmkay.

yeah well... harvard men. wat can u expect, eh?

lol jk

lol mmkay. u were calling the question stupid rite? n not me?

i was just being paranoid. i did say the Univ. of Penn so im fine i guess.

come on now. there is no such thing as a bad question. except for this one.

I called it UPenn several times in my essay and I got in so you're fine.

. hahaha

ok, maybe if you referred to Penn as "Ben Franklin's illegitimate love child" you would be looked down at, but for real. "The u of penn" vs "u of penn." zomg.

ungst, what a great point you made. One article shouldn't matter. A couple wrong letters shouldn't matter either. They're smart. They'll know what you mean. Humans are imperfect. Keep that in your head for the future.
