I think I got rescinded, and I don't know why?

I sent my appeal via Fedex Overnight Express, so I know they got it guaranteed.

I’m still expecting an official letter, but the hold on my account has been removed and all my account access has been restored. I believe it’s been three (3) business days since I sent the letter.

Hey guys,

I sent in mine last week on Thurs. via overnight. When I called the admissions office on Tues they said they had not gotten it yet because it takes time to get to the right person. However, when I log in to tritonlink I can now access everything - I see the checklist, housing app, class sched, etc. HOWEVER when I click transcripts it still says I have a transcript hold. Is this a good or bad sign?

@iamaskiier, check the HOLDS section. https://www-act.ucsd.edu/studentHolds/holds

Also, if anyone could get me a screenshot of the checklist (specifically the transcripts portion), you’d be my hero. I’m waiting on an appeal also…

Yeah, it still says I have a hold. BUT the transcripts part of my checklist has been checked off (which was why I got rescinded) so I’m hoping that’s a good start? I’m just freaking out and really want to know what’s gonna happen. If ANYONE who’s gotten re-admitted could tell me if it’s a good sign or if I just need to wait to see if the hold gets removed, I’d really appreciate it! :)

@fourthaxis Sorry I don’t think my computer can do a screenshot.

I’d call. Most people on hold can’t even see the checklist when logging onto the myapplication site.

Is there anyway you can send me a screen shot of the transcripts section of the checklist? If you’re on a PC, all you have to do is click the Print Screen key, then paste into paint, or photoshop…

@fourthaxis: if you private message me your email, I can that for you. Why do you wanna see it though?(Asking so I’ll know what I can block out and what I should leave in)

@iamaskiier: which hold are you talking about? If you’re talking about “No enrollment or cancellation hold”(or something along that line) you’re good. You can get rid of the hold by completely the new student gateway thing. Basically, you need to get approval on which classes you’re thinking of taking from the academic advisors. They will then remove the hold before your registration date if they approve of it.

This is the hold that’s been on my account since I got the e-mail saying my acceptance was revoked because they never got my transcript. I called the office and they just said I needed to submit an appeal with the proper documentation. I also never got a cancellation letter in the mail, but anyways… The hold on my account is:

Administrative cancellation of admission. Student should contact the Undergraduate Admissions Office, (858) 534-4831 or in person for information.

Type: Administrative UNCA (Cancel Undergraduate Admission)
Start date: 08/03/2010
Office: Undergraduate Admissions Office
Prevents: Admission or Re-admission
Award of Degree
Financial Aid
Enrollment and Add/Drop
Transcript Production
Fee Payment

Is that the one you’re talking about? Or is it because my appeal has not yet been approved?

Oh, you still have that hold? That’s weird… you shouldn’t if you can see the checklist and everything… or that’s what I thought at least.

I got reinstated yesterday, I don’t see that hold anymore. This is the only hold I have left
Type: Administrative ENRL (No Enrollment or Changes)
Start date: 07/01/2010
Office: Muir College Academic Advising
Prevents: Enrollment and Add/Drop

Thanks, I just got one. I blew it though. “College transcripts from ALL academic institutions attended” I thought when my CC approved my other transcripts for IGETC, that I didn’t need to provide them. Plus, the checklist said “Transcripts received.”

I’ll post when I get word on my appeal…

Oh… I guess they just haven’t decided yet? Yeah I thought that if I could see my checklist and if my transcripts had been received & validated I’d be good to go. I guess I just need to wait to see if my appeal is approved and then hopefully that hold is gone.

Can I ask you why you were rescinded? Was it transcripts?

Thank you so much for all your help!

@iamaskiier: Yeap. I got rescinded because my CC did not send out the transcripts at all because they decide to impose a financial hold on me 12 days after my transcript request and thought it would be funny to not inform me at all. I’m guessing as long as you have a receipt to prove that you attempted to send it in before the deadline, you’re fine.

Yeah I put in a letter from my counselor and a copy of the form I filled out to send out the transcript. As long as this clears up before I have to register for classes, I’ll be okay.

Thanks again for everything!

Just got a letter saying I’ve been reinstated!   Dunno why the F there’s still a hold on my account, but I’m ecstatic. I’ll call the office tomorrow to see w’sup.

Good luck to anyone else!

Just wanted to update that my hold was also removed. Registering today at 11AM!
