I think I might die

To all those who know Northwestern like ze back of your hand or who go there:

I just recently began my senior year, and my college search is completely finished. I am not int he process of applying (sort of), and I have realized Northwestern is probably close to my top choice. However, I have a D in this AP class that i am in b/c it is a wicked hard class and everybody is failing it (it's not just me at all), and i got my first midterm.

With this in mind, it's hard to know what's going to happen. I might get my first "c" on a report card in h.s., meaning i couldn't get above a 4.1 GPA. my goal is somewhere around a 4.3 so i can get up to NW's standards. but, say i actually got a C+ and A"s in all the other honors/ap blah blah i'm in, would that ruin my chances if i am a music major? Should i not even bother? it's just a little bit of a concern b/c they may think i'm slacking when i am working harder than i've ever worked >:O

Thank you !

First of all, your subject title is inappropriate.

No you're not screwed. Just work hard and demonstrate your desire to attend NU. If anything, have your counselor remark about the difficulty of your class in his recommendation and note your hard work and dedication.

yeah, wow, that's a really ****ty situation, your teacher won't curve the class even though he can see the GPA spread?

definitely have your counselor mention the class in his rec. Your GPA sounds fine, it's normal to be nervous but you sound like that guy from the breakfast club who got a C in shop and now thinks his college ambitions are ruined haha, ie: it's not such a big deal.

Shouldn't be a big deal for music school. They want decent grades but they don't focus on grades as much as art&sci and engineering schools. Their average SAT is lower than university average. You do need to be pretty good at music though.
