I think I missed the deadline

I just submitted my application to Cornell thinking I met the 11:59 PM deadline, EST. However, I’ve also just realised I should’ve submitted my application 18 hours ago because I live in New Zealand. I moved from the US five years ago so I’m used to just converting any dates/times from US time. Hence, I submitted thinking I was meeting the deadline. It was my first application and it was really just a horrible assumption on my part. I’m not sure whether I should own up to it and email admissions to confirm whether my application will be reviewed or not, or whether I should just wait it out for two months and I hope they don’t notice. Any thoughts?

P.S. I don’t need to be berated about pushing it to the last minute, I know it’s not a good habit. I am just dealing with the struggle of writing why essays for schools I haven’t visited or have any connections to.

If it gives you peace of mind, you can email and state you understand there was a near day delay and apologize. I wouldn’t state why. Reaffirm your desire to attend and hope your application will be read.

If you do nothing, the same thing will happen.

Either you’re late and it will be disregarded or even though you’re late they’ll still honor it.

One other thing. The deadline shows January 2nd. Correct me if I’m wrong but it became January 3rd 37 minutes ago.

Are you sure you’re late ?

You might be worried about nothing !!

Are you a domestic student (US citizen)? If so the deadline was extended to Jan 10 and you are fine.

Interesting. I didn’t see that on their website. That would really solve the issue :). Website shows Jan 2 which ended less than an hour ago.

I’m sure you made OP’s day
