I think I pretty much screwed myself..

I'm a high school junior, and I'm not an idiot I swear, but due to some bad tips and suggestions from peers I think I screwed myself from getting into a good college.

Heres where I stand:
Currently have a 90.90 average, this only includes my freshman and sophomore grades.
The reason why its so low is because I was told colleges only look at junior year grades. yeah, I know right? so right now im in my junior year and my average is much higher, im expecting at least a 94, but hopefully a 95. im really going to work to bring it up.

the thing that REALLY REALLY REALLY sucks though is I have no honors or APs. this is because i CANNOT handle stress, so i was told its no big deal if i donttry for aps. so basically im just in the gifted classes, blowing everyone out of the water while a bunch of kids i know are stupid are taking APs.

i really dont have much extracurricular activities either, im not athletic- i am in some clubs and i do do community service here and there, but overall nothing to really make me stand out.

i am very worried about all this, im not shooting for ivy league or anything; but id really like to go to a nice college. right now im thinking Ohio State is my best match, but is that a reach with my grades?

im definitely not being an idiot next year and taking AP Stats and AP gov/economics. despite my stress issues, i need to at least show im trying now. im interested in doing something along the lines of business/accounting- so i figured those aps would be the best choice.

im just really stress out here, sorry for the ramble but i dont know what to do..

Honestly, you should have used common sense. I don’t mean to be rude, but my 11 year old sister could tell you what you did wrong. Out of curiosity, are your peers enemies of yours?

no, just idiots.

i guess thats what i get for taking easy classes.

i mean its not like im taking ■■■■■■■■ classes, its just i definitely am ap worthy.
anyways the point of this board is not for “yeah youre an idiot”, its just help for what i can do /now/. please, ive already beaten myself up about this.

my classes right now btw are:
pre-calc
us hist
con law
spanish
american classics
physics

and im getting 90+ in all of them.

oh i forgot one important thing. i did take the sats once, this december.

i got 610 in english
640 in math
680 in writing

def doing study though. hoping for at least 650 in both reading and math.

You can’t handle stress? And you want to go to college?

do you guys think i should try for one more AP to kind of “make up”? i can try for an AP science perhaps…

well i mean i can handle it, but i just get stressed very easily.

if i have something to get done, i get it done no matter what.

Well… I am not going to lie, you made some bad decisions.

What I would advise is fix your habit of avoiding stress. This in my opinion is much more important than getting into good college.

In long run, if you get into godly college and avoid stress like right now, you will fail. In contrary, if you get into OK college with new attitude, you will succeed, perhaps enough to make up for not going to godly university.

im definitely not shooting for an ivy league, but im definitely going to try and step it up with doing those 3 aps/extracurricular activites senior year.

does ohio state seem like a reach with my scores so far?
maybe i should shoot a little lower.

You’re an average student. You will get into a fine college, don’t let nerds on this forum or anyone else tell you otherwise. I have not taken 1 AP class or studied for 1 test in my whole high school career and I’m sure I will get into some fine colleges. Relax and do what you can in the future, don’t beat yourself up about the past

i didnt realize it was so serious, i mean im in the top ten percent at my school so i figured i didnt have THAT bad of a chance, i mean im one of the “smart kids”.

just made reallllllly stupid choices.
