I've sent out my applications through mail (postmarked Dec 28 or 29th) to five colleges. All of them, including the ones I sent on Jan 3rd, received my applications. But Dartmouth has still received my apps.

Should I wait another week for them to process?
or should I send another copy of the application in case it did get lost?

I mailed six applications on December 31 and one on January 3, but I still haven't received confirmation that any of them have arrived. Should I be worried?

I sent the December packages using 4 day express mail and the Jan 3rd one via 1 day priority. and since majority of applicants today now use online methods to apply, I presumed it would take less than 2 weeks to process all the received materials. hmm. perhaps I should call the admission office?

Call the admissions office twice a week to verify that your documents have been recieved. Thats what I do. Also note that sometimes the school "has" receieved your documents but have not processed them yet, i.e computer.

is there a reason you think it didn't get there? other than the fact you haven't received confirmation of it? it's possible they just haven't processed it yet.

It is going to take schools a while to process applications. If your colleges provide on-line credentials checking, visit their websites - they will likely provide updates on when to contact them if your records have not arrived. Give it at least another week or two.

It takes more than a few days. Often it can take several weeks before they have everything sorted out and you know whether they've received it or not.

While it will take them time to process your materials (and its a bit early to panic unless you are applying EDII), you do have to verify that all your application materials arrive and are entered into the system safely. One of my son's friend had Stanford lose her application twice - and then they rejected her. Case misplaced the packet of stuff from my son's HS - but we caught that (at the last minute) through their on-line credential's checking, and he was admitted.

The place you have to be careful is if a college sends you a letter acknowledging receipt of some piece of your file, but saying that they will not send additional confirmations. If they do not offer on-line checking, the piece of information that you need to know is if your file is COMPLETE (which means it will be read by the admissions committee).

Yeah..if you appled online they'll tell you if its complete within a few days..if you mailed it..it could take a few weeks..be patient..it'll probably be alright

Uhhh... have you heard of USPS' Delivery Confirmation?!!! It costs 60 cents. On something as important as common apps... did we not consider something like that?
