Are my SAT scores and hs gpa too low for these schools?

what?? I think you have a pretty decent chance at most of those schools (I don’t know about Stern, or any business school). If that’s a weighted GPA from a competitive HS, it’s not bad (and I’m assuming it must be, 15 honors classes?). Your SATs are on the low side, but “amazing” recs and a strong essay could tip you over. But don’t bank on simply “telling” admissions people about a lousy childhood, you have to tell your story well. Good luck.

its pretty much a regular high school. i just slacked off a little in hs. and im working on all of the essays so they are perfect.

and thanks!

bump10char

anyoneeeee???

I think your SATs are a bit low, being a freshman, they will look equally at your high school and college stats. If you wait a year and apply as a sophomore (keeping up with your college gpa) your chances will be much greater. However, you have all the other things like extracurriculars and recs, so you might as well try.

ive added cornell to my list. cas.
also my hs gpa is a 3.8 weighted, not 3.7.
and my midterm grades show a 4.0.

a better chance?

Four letters of recommendation is not going to do you any favors. If they ask for one or two, send one or two (or at least CALL and ask if giving them twice the amount to read will be a nuisance. Don’t send four out of the blue.)

I think your best shot is at Northwestern, but all are within reason. Cornell, Stern, and UPenn are all a crapshoot, especially if you’re thinking wharton.

no im not thinking wharton. and im only sending 3 to each school. but im varying the ones i send depending on the school. 1 extra one is always acceptable.
