From what I understand Cal Poly application does not accept information about EC’s, essays, or recommendations.
On their application they have only two questions about the number of hours spent on EC’s and employment.
A friend went on a campus tour and was told during the information session to attach as much information as possible in their application, including essays, EC’s, recs, etc.
Has anyone heard of this? Or is this a misunderstanding or the guide was misinformed? I don’t even see where you could attach this information in your application.
Unless there is maybe a two-tier application system: people applying online and following the application rules, and people who know better, because they visited and were given special information that the majority of applicants would not know about.
Some one is misinformed. This is from the SLO website:::::

Friend either misunderstood or had whacky guide (I think friend misunderstood). No essays, no listing ECs, same as always.
whacky tour guide is your answer. every single one of them are whacky. they spoute the most absurd things i have ever heard. “police can arrive to the blue emergency terminals in 20 seconds” “starbucks on campus is the most visisted starbucks in CA” pretty sure they get paid just to make stuff up.
