I thought I would but I don't...

Do you have a class you were really looking forward to, but it didn't meet your expectations? for me it was ap english lit. The teacher I had for 10th grade honors english, and she loved me, so I was expecting a great english class this year...I was wrong. I dislike that class. We do stupid things. I honestly don't like her teaching style now for some reason. I don't think she likes me either. Do you have any classes like that?

Yep. Mine was AP Biology...the teacher from last year ended up teaching IB Biology this year, and she was one of the main reasons I was going to take the class. She was a great teacher. And the replacement...well no one in the class likes her, maybe a few if any. She's just a big dissapointment. We really think she doesn't know the material herself, like she doesn't even make the powerpoints herself (we use the ones the IB Bio teacher makes for her class). And she looks at notes all the time...we even hear her give information in class the contradicts the books. I've been doing a lot of self studying in that class....that's all I have to say about that.

Mine was Music Theory...the teacher said it was going to be self taught, which is good because (not bragging) I am worlds ahead of the kids at my (public) school, because well music is my life.

So now I sleep/do homework for other classes while the teacher groans on about how there's a half step between B and C. ZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

IB business and management....it sucks, I'm totally into business and economics etc topics but this class absolutely blows. I was expecting something much more interesting, not just demand and supply curves ( which is all we've done in a complete quarter). On the other hand I'm loving my Economics class. It's one of the msot interesting courses I've ever taken.

Env. Science is drilling a hole into my brain.

Celebrian...do we go to the same school? That is my AP Lit class...I had the teacher 10th grade honors too...and we do nothing in AP Lit...

Uh, pretty much all of my classes except for debate/government/Spanish.

that's really weird about ap english oneiros...:p

Freshman year... Geo honors. So much easier than I anticipated. I don't think I learned more than I could've taught myself in a couple days.

Sophomore year... AP Comp Sci A was complete crap. American Studies I honors was soooooo stupid because my teacher didn't know bullcrap (haha I got that term from The Apprentice). Physics honors - my teacher made only certain people love physics and left everyone else behind in the dust. French 3 was like French 1 for the third year in a row.

Junior year... AP Biology simply because my teacher sucks. I absolutely love the material, but he makes it die more than come alive. AP US History - everyone talks about how awesome the teacher I have is, but he's sooo boring. He just stands there and lectures for an hour while we take notes. Then we get a test every five days or so. Blah blah blah.

AP Language definitely exceeded my expectations. I LOVE that class, even though I'm a math/science person.

Multivariable calculus is a disappointment. It is the easiest class and the tests r so rudimentary that it enrages me.
Another disappointment is AP physics C since i'm not doing as well as everyone who took AP Physics C told me how i would.

oneiros and celebrian are both from ohio too haha. For me Economics (my school only offers standard) was/is the biggest let down.

yes- mine is physics honors this year.
because i loooove math (lol) and i want to be an engineer, i expected it to be one of my fav. classes. however it is reallllly boring, the math is so easy (try, 3+5 lol) and the kids are kind of dumb.... the teacher, also is really smart (and he invented radar or something...lol) but cant teach that well. he is nice though

AP Chemistry.

I dont really like school much and therefore i dont really look forward to any classes.... but i was kinda liking ap bio b/c i though it would be a blowoff ap... yep i was wrong

to the OP, omg, I have the exact same situation for my AP Lit class

This year.

Modern World History: Not the fault of the teacher, but we were told that a teacher I had for the last two years (easily the best I ever had) would be teaching that class and would prep us for the World History SAT II if needed...then he left to teach at two colleges and other endeavors, so we got a more traditional teacher who simply isn't that good.

Honors British Lit: Had this teacher in 10th grade and I am not enjoying the class as much this year...similar much to a couple other people?

honors physics...I thought it would be awesome...it turns out, the teacher doesn't know how to teach (she just hands us worksheets) and I really dislike her...

Aviation class, we didn't get to fly in planes for insurance reasons. almost 3 days a week if not more we watched videos. When we actually had class it would be 15 minutes long and we had to wait 2 hours for the bus to bring us back to our high school because the class was at a nearby college. The only good thing was being practically unsupervised and doing whatever we want on campus. I only took it again senior year to do my homework I didn't do the night before and to get more sleep.
And if I actually went to that college I would have gotten college credits.

AP/IB psychology....we dont do anything in that class and the teacher pretty much needs a psychologist herself....so basically im screwed when it comes time for the tests

AP European History - Sophomore year

I did well on the history course the year before, so I thought that AP Euro would be a snap, but the teacher didn't like me so I didn't have a great year =(
