Penn State,
Notre dame,
Oregon,
Oklahoma,
George Washington,
CAN SOMEONE MAYBE OFFER SOME BETTER SCHOOLS? - I realize there most reaches out of state, and just im not that smart and don't stand out

so yeah help?!

Being able to pay should be a huge plus. Are you a urm? I think the figure skating makes it hard to come up with choices. You need to be sure that you’re not excluding schools for something you may not have time to do in college.

Maybe loyola marymount in calif?

Hispanic, so yeah URM, i had thought that was on there but I guess not haha

and i should have noted im not preferably into hot weather which is why theres only a few schools like that (Alabama, FSU)

Yeah I know, but i’d LIKE ice skating because its huge and i know i cant cheer in college anyway so like yeeeeaah)

but uhm i guess i should add what i want in a school (which are exceptions at GWU & ND)
*Big time sports
*College town/big city
*10k+
*Colder-ish Weather

–I’m not really a California Person, I’m definitely an East-Coaster/Middle America type

Have you look at NY SUNY schools, good deal tuition for an OOS, cold winters for most, you need to check stats, majors ect vs schools on college board’s match finder. Maybe Syracuse, U Mass?

most of the SUNY’s are pretty small, i say 10k+ but IDEALLY im into the Penn state. OSU type ahah
hmm Umass amherst i never hear any good things about it around here, or actually much about it at all lol

and i applied to syracuse!

I think you’d have your best chances at schools that are both “need aware” and want more Hispanic students.

So, where in the east coast/midwest are there good schools that would likely admit the OP because she is Hispanic and can full pay?

Folks…Are any of the following “need aware” and in need of more Hispanic students???

Would Carleton be a possibility?

or… Elon, James Madison, Providence, Marist, Ithaca?

Elon is too Small, and the rest are LAC’s and i definitely dont wanna go to those, haha not to be rude but i stated^^^ big college sports and at least 10-15K people

i have a friend at JMU who HHAAAATES it lol

Also use some of the wealth of info available on sites like the students review.com, princetonreview.com web sites. Yahoo Answers also is a great resource.

I think Providence is need aware. Much smaller than those on her list but worth a look. Marist, too.

Providence is absolutely need-blind.

Have you looked at Marquette? There are 8,000 undergrads and about 2,000 grad students. Basketball is their big sport. Your scores put you in the middle of the pack.

oops…I forgot about the size preference.

Providence and Marist aren’t LACs, but they are too small for your tastes.

How about… (don’t know what their sports are like because I’m an SEC, ND, Pac10, Big 10 fan)

The size preference and “big sports” pretty much requires the school to be a state school. I keep coming up with possible schools, but they’re either too small or don’t have big sports. :(

Have you visited all the schools on your list? If not, maybe you should do so. If you end up loving them, then you don’t need to apply to anymore schools. :)

What about Fordham? You may not make U Maryland fall admission, but may well be offered January admission, so think about whether or not that would be a good option for you.

^^^^

Good suggestion.

1980collegegrad- I’ve done that, but thanks

EPTR & alf- Yeah, Much Much MUUUCH to small for me, my high school has more then that

Twomules- I looked it up, but it doesn’t really look like its for me i guess, im more into football then basketball

mom2college- Yeah non small & big sports are musts actually, i can’t imagine being in a tiny place, i visited american u and absolutely HATED it; I guess im just gonna have to go with a state school =/ i was trying to open my eyes to privates but i rarely like them except ND & Syracuse and ND is my massive/never make reach

Onemom- Someone mentioned fordham on another I’ve visited and didn’t like it, and i strongly dislike the core there; I’ve actually been admitted to maryland i applied back October 10th;; evern though i’ve been admitted to maryland i KNOW im not going, and i dont want to go i hate college park and am not a fan of UMD

UConn; UDel and Rutgers? St. Josephs? Fairfield?

I think I may be applying to Conn! haha
del is to close lol
and rutgers, i wasn’t intot he campus

and the last two are way to small

Just saying, the reason you probably didn’t get helped as much as others isn’t becuase you aren’t Ivy, but because you’re requirements are rather exacting and people aren’t necessarilly sure what fits. I would recommend Centre, Rhodes, Elon, and Richmond, but they’re too small from what I can garner for your tastes.

i didn’t really think 10K+ was to exacting? Im willing to go out west, it’s jsut not my top choice… Not so much to small i guess but im not a fan of LAC’s

I hope it didn’t come off as an attack, just trying to rationalize the number of people responding. If youre willing to go out west then maybe University of Denver. They’re small as well, but strong in IR. Very similar to American in that regard.
