I have a couple of friends who’ll be going to Tufts this fall that turned down offers from ivies(Columbia, Cornell) and other elite colleges. I think Tufts is really becoming a top pick for a lot of people.

Also here on CC, @just123098 turned down Harvard, Upenn and Vanderbilt for Tufts!

I chose Tufts over Harvard, Upenn and Vandy. I couldn’t be happier about my decision and I really can’t wait to meet everyone in the fall!

PS- I also got into Wash U, Emory and Vassar, but I didn’t consider going to any of these.

What made you pick Tufts over all of those schools, including over Wash U and Emory? Any info about your decision making process would be helpful. @just123098

@hardworking99 Tufts has always been my dream school. Since the first time I stepped on campus, I’ve had an almost undetachable connection to Tufts. I always had connotations of how a particular college should be, but Tufts just felt “right” for me. The student body at Tufts resonated strongly with my personality and how I see myself in college. I would have applied ED to Tufts but I wanted to compare financial aid offers. Now the hard part for me was choosing Tufts over all these amazing school. Upenn was too close to home, Vanderbilt didn’t feel right for me and, Harvard, which was probably the hardest to turn down, just did not resonate with my passions and aspirations. Also, Tufts food easily trumps the food at any of these schools (lol)! I’m super excited for life at Tufts and I can’t wait to meet everyone!

PS- I received a grand total of 0$ in financial aid from all these schools.
