i used an hb 2.5 pencil. does that make a difference?

I used a faber castell 2.5 HB to mark one of my sections. The rest I did with a pencil that read #2. That doesnt make a difference, does it?

They use machines that can only detect a specific type of graphite…And that graphite happens to be found in #2 pencils. So if you use anything other than #2, the machine will mark that you omitted every single question!!!

wish I could help- not sure though! LOL

consider cancelling the score? I feel so bad for you!

That is a FALSE statement.
Scantron is able to pick up marks from pencils of different strengths.

Unless the SAT scantrons are specially made so they don’t accept anything other than #2 strength pencils so they can penalize anyone who used pencils other than #2, you are fine.

(In school scantrons I usually use lead mechanical pencil of all sorts of strength and scantrons are always fine with them)

Whether it makes a difference or not, do not cancel your scores. If you get an undeserved 600 when you get your scores back, you can request for your scantron to be handgraded. It costs more than it does to take the acutal test though.

I don’t think so. My school exam also required to use #2 pencil and sometime I use #3 but it is indifference

The teacher said once that the machine can read with the pencil that more than #2 . but if you use #4… , it is hard to erase.

if worse comes to worse, you can ask them to handgrade it…
