I am a white girl interested in studying Mechanical Engineering.
My recommendations were very good from a physics and a history teacher. I had an addition rec from my engineering teacher ( I was shop supervisor and took several shop/engineering classes with this teacher).
My essays were interesting I would say. The first about my "circus talents", solving the Rubik's Cube, the Diabolo, and Juggling. The second was about being part of a rowing team.

I had my Yale interview already and it went very well. We talked about the Rubik's Cube, a mutual interest, and many other interests that we seemed to have in common.

The other colleges I am hoping for are:
Princeton
Harvard
UPenn
Brown
Cornell
Carnegie Mellon
Duke
Tufts

Please let me know what you think.

you will get in to carnegie mellon, cornnel, and tufts but denied everywhere else imo

Princeton- reach (test scores)
Harvard- reach (EC's)
UPenn- low-reach for engineering
Brown- high match
Cornell- high match
Carnegie Mellon-in
Duke-high-match
Tufts-in

I think your list is very well rounded (safeties and reaches) good luck in your apps!
