I wana try too!

Okay so, here are my stats!
Ethnicity: Russian, only came here 5 years ago, no previous knowledge of English!
GPA: UW 3.72
SAT: 1830 M-680 CR-620 W-530
TOEFL: 110
SAT 2's
Biology: 620 (bad, I know, but I had 0 knowledge of biology, and only 1 month to study)
Math 2: 660
No AP's, but the school doesn't offer any, though all of the classes in the school are considered very rigorous.

Extracurriculars.
Karate: half a year
First board (chess)
Made my own chess club for little kids.
Created a club students can come to and get help with their school classes (all classes).
Before that, spend lots of time in Math Lab (basically a place where students go to get help with Mathematics)
Varsity Soccer for the first 2 years of school.
Attempted to make the Science club in our school, failed, lack of interest from students.
3 years Engineering club
Build On (volunteering) 100+ hours
Helped build a play-ground in Philadelphia
Obviously know Russian English and have been learning Spanish for 3 years.
Took 4 years of Drama, so pretty good at acting ;)
My essays were pretty good I would say.
Member of the School's Robotics team, responsible for the electronics and movement of our robot!
Have been working in the Biology laboratory for a year already with my mother under Dr. Brose, and have created my own mutational panel.
There is much more, but these are the things that I can think of off the top of my head.
So, the schools that I am wondering about would be:
MIT
Stanford
UPenn
Cornell
UChicago
Carnegie Mellon
Lehigh

So, yea, please help me, I am very curious of my chances!

MIT, Stanford, UPenn, Cornell, and CMU are too high in my opinion. You SAT is extremely low, even though you are Russian. These schools like to see at least 700+ all subsections and you failed to do that all 3.

Lehigh is a low reach

U Chicago is a low reach if you write good essays with a good voice.

Bumpy bump!

all reaches except for lehigh

Except for Leigh they are all high reaches/unrealistic. Your stats are not bad, but your stats need to be near perfect to even have a shot at the top schools.

Thank! Bump again ;)

Privet! Yay someone from Russia. Have you already applied or are you a junior? The SAT definitely needs retaking, because without it, I have to be honest, it’s very unlikely you will get into the top schools like the Ivies/MIT/Stanford. Even valedicatorians with 2400 get rejected, so it’s definitely something to take into consideration. Udachi!

Спасибо! I am afraid I do not have the time to re-take anymore, so the only thing I can do is hope :D
