Also, neither parent went to college...if that helps?

What's my chances? Am I a pretty typical Vandy applicant? How can I make myself stand out? THANKS!!

Your grades are excellent....SAT (math) is a little low, but I think you have a good chance if you have good recs/strong essays

Your ECs and grades are great...but what are you doing in all of your summers (you said interning this summer, but what about the others)?

You might want to consider retaking the SAT for the math portion...your verbal is great, but the math is low. If you can afford it, I would recommend sending your SAT out to schools now and then retake it. THat way, if you do well, then you can send again so that schools get both scores. If you bomb it, then you don't send it and they still have your original, which is pretty decent.

Hope to see you there during your freshmen year!

man, I wish i had half of those credentials and grades, but by your year I don't know how tough it will be to get in. I applied last year, but my Standardized scores were good and some grades were iffy "two c's in AP calc AB and BC" but anyways I think you have a phenomenal chance. just show how much you love vandy and how much you have to offer, adn I think yu have a great shot!

any other thoughts?

you gotta get out of buffalo!!! Too much snow and not enough green. vandy def has green. But did you know, that during commencement the administration thinks the grass isn't green enough, so they dye it green! How crazy is that?

bump bump bump

you have great extra curriculars and your grades seem to be quite good. your scores are certainly within Vandy's range...do you know what you want to study? if you wanted to major in something like math, science, engineering, etc. - then you might want to consider retaking SAT - since it is towards the lower end. I would say try to retake the SAT II history if you think that you can do better (try to get it over 700). Make sure that your recommenders will do you justice (or beyond) and be sure to write the best essays that you can (it can't hurt to ask someone on CC to look them over too....). Good luck!!

(oh, and Vandy is a national Arboretum, so it will be a nice change from cold, snowy Buffalo to the lush, green Vandy campus! ;)

i want to major in Human Organizational Development and economics

(nashville would be so awesome in comparison to buffalo! :-D)

vandygirl required necessities in order to graduate:

charge plates: Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, JCrew
jewelry: David Yurman
sunglasses: Chanel
dresses: Lilly Pulitzer
shoes: flexibility is somewhat tolerated

if you can't adjust, then don't apply.</p>

ha!

very funny musictoad...

you don't need to conform to that extent to be a Vandygirl...lol.

How do you get a 100 in English? What were your AP scores? You are certainly qualified.
