I wanna be in Boston!! ...what are my chances?

Ok, so I'd love to go to college somewhere in Boston, or maybe some other city...New York or Philly. What do you guys think are my chances?

GPA: 4.32 w
My school doesn't rank
SAT I: 750 CR, 710 M, 800 W
SAT II: Lit-750, Math II-660, taking Spanish in Nov.

My school has about 9 AP's, and by the time I graduate, I'll have 4 finished. I got a 4 on my AP US History test.

some minor EC'S:
Key Club- 2 years. class rep
FBLA- 2 years. Business Communication award, 5th in state
winter track- 2 years
part-time job filing stuff- 2 years
camp counselor- 1 summer
National Honor Society
cross country- 1 year
lacrosse- 1 year
spring track- 1 year

rec's are awesome, essays should be pretty good...hopefully...

Here are the colleges I was considering...I'm pretty sure I want to major in something in Communication, maybe Public Relations.

BOSTON
boston university
northeastern
boston college
emerson

NEW YORK CITY
nyu
fordham

PHILADELPHIA
drexel
temple

NEW JERSEY
rutgers (safety)

I think you have a good shot at all the schools. Have fun in Boston.

boston is not that great....... 4 months of snow...
and then you have to earn how to drive all over again to cope with us.

BU has a great communications school I hear.

I think you've got a great shot at those schools, from my limited knowledge. I have to disagree with vision - I love Boston. We have so many great universities, and the city is really the epitome of a college town. Yeah, I imagine the driving must suck if you learned somewhere else. But the snow is really part of the charm, right?

Thanks, guys.

I'll be able to deal with the snow..I hope. But I'm def not bringing a car up there. Finding parking seems like a pain in the ass.

I'm flattered that amongst your stellar stats you mentioned Temple. Youd without a doubt get a damn near full ride or more.

Drexel is a sausage fest. I doubt youd like it.

I'd be honored if you joined me at BU next year :)

What are my chances at...UPenn?

It's a reach. Ok chance. ECs dont jump out and scream Ivy tho. Come to BU ;)

ide say ur into all of them
cept i know nothing about emerson
never researched it b4

i think you should apply to some more reaches. your stats are about average for an ivy applicant..what's the harm in applying? if you want to stick to those cities you have columbia, upenn, princeton and harvard.

Yea I was thinking about UPenn, Columbia, and Harvard..

i think u should stick to the ones u had before..those ivies are reaches

isn't that the entire point? he hasn't got any other reaches on his list.

she, haha....hmm so nyu/bc wouldn't be reaches for me?

i'm applying to steinhardt in nyu (that's where the communications major is) so i'm worried that it'll be a lot more competitive

i dont think it matters.
Your stats will easily get u into steinhardt.
Or at least they should accept u.
Ur sat's are great,
and
i reccomend that u take the Act if u can

Looks to me like you have a good chance at nyu/bc. Good luck!

thankss :)

I live 30 minutes next to Boston. What's so good about Boston?
