Summer of 2004: Junior Statesmen of America Princeton, took AP Comparative Gov and Speech COmmunication honors - got an A in gov, a B+ in speech (I slacked off cuz my proff was demented, but govy was an AMAZING class taught by a cornell proff).
Summer 2005: Will be working at the local library and taking classes at the local community college. SHOULD I TRY TO FIND A GOV/LAW INTERN INSTEAD?

Recs will be pretty good since my world history and latin teachers love me.

I got in, and you look a hell of a lot stronger than I did.

If you write essays at the same quality as everything else you've already done, I don't see why you wouldn't get in.

I think you will have your pick of the litter next year....just don't overwhelm yourself. Your schedule seems to be a little too much.

it may be better to do the internship because it shows interest in a particular field and helps more people than just yourself (opposed to taking class) but i know just as much as you

wow...I have like no chances to get anything except service awards at my school...does that mean that I have no chance?

that shouldve been...you know just as much as me (no wonder it sounded funny)

you're the news editor for your weekly? i'm from a weekly, too - lifestyles (non-school feature) editor here! weekly pride!!

and p.s., you look like a strong applicant to me. here's to hoping i'll see you as a prospie at dimensions next year!

You have much stronger academics/EC's than I did, and I got a likely letter. Nothing is definitive in Ivy admissions, but I don't see why you wouldn't be accepted.

Ditto on the prospie remark!

-Chris

I think there are many more weeklies than people think. I'm the editor for my school's, and once you get started, there's really nothing that difficult about it.

But as said before, you look like a strong applicant, but don't forget about safeties due to unpredicatble randomness.
