Agreed. Grades excellent. Class rank excellent. ECs good. URM status a real bonus. Get above, say, 2150 on your SATs and your probably in. And even if you only get about the same score as you did before, you should apply at UPenn. Your URM status will really help.

ok thanx guys but is goin to a high school with no ap classes and with next to no ECs gonna hurt my chances????....also i wanted to know if UPENN is really a good skool for to get my Bachelors of science n engineering with a maj Digital Medi Design......or what are some other alternatives

Stickyfinger is definately exxagerating. Currently, decent chance at Penn. If scores go up to 2100-2150, it'll be more likely than most. If you get them up to 2200-2250ish, I'd be very surprised if you didn't get in.

Getting a C will not kill your chances. My best friend had a 2.3 average in high school, and is now attending Harvard. Although... she also had a recommendation from former president Bill Clinton as he was a childhood mentor to her. Her SAT scores (the old SAT) was a 1550 I believe - or something close to that. And her essays were superb. So a 'C' is not the end.

Oh, ok. That makes sense. Yes, I think you definately have a good shot. The grades are a little low, but your weighted GPA and rank are both excellent. Your school must have grade deflation.
