Volunteered for the McCain campaign over the summer and will continue to do so this fall, but the hours I work can't be counted as service hours.
*I want to major in political science so I'm trying to make an effort to show that I'm doing what I'm passionate about.

Also, I have a recommendation letter that I'm submitting to the University of Virginia from an instructor at this program who attended UVA. He works for the State Department and works in Latvia. Maybe this will give me an edge.

^SUBMITTING MY SENIOR, MID-YEAR GRADES TO UT AND UVA, WHICH IS REQUIRED.

2nd semester:
Pre-Calculus Honors
Physics Honors
Media Production II
Economics Honors
Dual Enrollment English
Dual Enrollment Spanish
Theology

*My school is a small private school with limited funding. It's a very good school academically (college preparatory), but it offers very few AP courses (3 I think), so I've tried to take advantage of most of the Dual Enrollment courses which I consider just as difficult as A courses. Also, at my school, Theology is a required course all 4 years, so that also limits the amount of academic courses I can take.

*My school is EXTREMELY competitive. We have a 100 % college acceptance rate at my school and there's a lot of pressure to do well.

I've already been accepted to the following schools:

Texas A&M University
University of Mississippi
University of Alabama
University of Oklahoma
University of Georgia
Penn State University
Southern Methodist University
Baylor University
University of South Carolina

Hopefully that gives ya'll an idea about what schools I'm capable of getting into.
Thanks!

I think you're a shoe-in, seriously. By the way my uncle graduated from UT with a degree in political science, and when he was in high school (he's not old, but I wouldn't say he's young) he got into a lot of trouble was almost expelled/contemplated dropping out so I can honestly say I think they'll accept you and you'll do really well :) By the way he's a doctor now. However, if you're still skeptical go to mychanceDOTnet and create a profile. It's free and it is accurate in IMO. It's not the type of site to just say you have a 80-90% chance if you put that you have A's on your profile, but seriously I think you'll get in. Your SAT score is great, and you're EC's are amazing! I've already been accepted and my stats weren't nearly as impressive as yours.
Talking about my uncle reminds me...was there a section on the app for putting relatives that attended UT? B/c if there was I didn't fill it out. Also, if you could chance me back that would be great, b/c I haven't received any decisions from any school besides UT.

STATS:
GPA-3.8
top 10%
SAT: math-710,reading-680, writing-610, 1910
got about 5 awards and recognitions. like academic achievement in Pre-AP chem.
ECs:
SAT subject tests: math-590(low, I know) literature-630, US history-660

Fresmen Execs:secretary, student council, Leo club, National Honor society, Club Med
I'm half-korean and half-iranian so some colleges like diversity and all that.
I have about 5 volunteer activities that I put in my app(used commonapp) and last year I made a 3 on my AP english exam, and a 5 on the AP US history exam (what I see as the highlight of my academic career) .

senior mid year grades: aerobics-A
Intro to Business-A
AP english- A
AP calc-A
AP Bio-B
student aide-isn't graded

current schedule:
sociology
apparel
AP English lit
PAACK(community service class)
AP calc AB (school doesn't offer BC)
AP Bio

Applied as a journalism/english (2nd choice) major to:
Tulane U
Rhodes C
Allegheny C
Marist C
Baylor U
Ithaca C
and my reaches are Brown and Rice which I'm almost sure I won't get into. I've already done the whole mychanesDOTnet thing for each, but it's nice having the input of a human being.

Your chance of getting accepted to UT is good. Your chance of meeting Colt McCoy...not so good.

Let me guess, you're gonna go to OU if you don't get into UT. haha. I think you've got the stats to get in. Best of luck to ya!

If you live in Jester or San Jac, you will probably see him at least once. I saw him a good 4 or 5 times. I could have met him, but my nerves would have prevented it even if I wanted to.

jump........

Question? How many chance threads have made for the same colleges? Haven't people already told you your chances are good?

and how could you chance someone, when you don't even know the chances yourself?

Dude, you're going to get in. Don't sweat it.

DP

bump...........

is next year 09-10 , colt mccoy's last yr at Ut austin I want to see him in fall 2010.

Yeah, you should be able to see him in fall 2010, at an NFL game...

If you wanna meet Colt, join APO and be on the field when we run the flag at games!
