Hey Guys,
my scores are writting 500 (8 essay) , math 620 , and reading 320 .
i need a study plan , and i need a study partner so we can study together online!!
Oh hey @SATDumber , I’m planning to take my SATs in Nov, Dec, and Jan.
My recent scores were
Writing (640)
Critical Reading (580)
Math (720)
Although I have a lot of space for improvement, my score was looking very similar to your score when I first started studying. What I did was, I re-bought the two collegeboard edition SAT study guides (as my original copies were graffiti-ed, by a bunch of marks made by a not-so serious test maker from a couple years back, cough). Since I had 18 brand new tests in front of me, I took one every single day, and looked up everything I missed online. Most questions have already been dissected by the College Confidential crew, Yahoo Answers, etc.
Taking several practice tests not only increases your score steadily, but it also increases your mental stamina when taking a 4 hour test. That’s what I’ve been doing and my score rose slowly from a 1600 to around a 1900 hovering in the last 2 months.
Hope this helps! And good luck on your SATs bro.
Thanks @HowTo800 !!! If you dont mind we can study together online , so we can help each others … It’s okay if you cant !!
Lets be study pals guys!!! I am also struggling with the SAT. I got 1790(math-640,reading-550,writing-600) on my first try in December 2014, I decided to retake one more time in June 2014 and unfortunately my score dropped to 1760(math-610 reading-540 and writing-610). I am sure i would have done a little better on the June test if all my sections were scored. I have currently registered for the October test and I’m aiming for a 2000+. I have taken all 10 practice tests in the bluebook with a few from Barrons. I feel really confused right now because on a good day I can get as high as 1980 on a practice test and as low as 1800 on a bad day. I never get below 1800 on practice tests but I always get below 1800 when I take the actual test!!!
I need help on how to manage time on the math and reading sections. Having study mates would help!
How would study mates actually work in our case though…?
We don’t even remotely live close to each other (at least, I don’t think?)
Maybe having a group chat on facebook? Not sure if it’ll be very effective, but it’s worth a try if you guys want to.
@HowTo800 We just decide on a practice test to take and take it at the same time and discuss the questions we got wrong and share tips and tricks. @SATDumber is in Egypt,I’m in Georgia USA. I don’t know where you are but I’m sure it can work out despite the time differences.
That’s a big jump. You need to start like a baby who is starting to grow up. First he/she crawl, then walk, and finally run. What I meant is that you should let to increase little by little. Why?
Because you won’t see a big jump from the morning to the night. It takes hard work and motivation. Definitely, Studying with people can help you. I would say get the BB and start studying. Also quality over quantity. If you keep doing test every day, you will keep getting the same mistakes over and over.
Good luck and do your best!
@DonMilton

Hey guys
May I join in too ?
Where are you planning to discuss the test above ?
Thanks in advance
@GettingDepressed we can discuss it here or on facebook
You might also sign up for the online SAT practice at College Board website - it has interactive tests with explanations of questions/answerss. About $70 for a subscription I think. If you were studying with others online you could all take / do the same sections and then discuss afterward. Just a thought.
Anyone is joing us ?
Math 610
