When a school says it will have a decision within 21 days, do they ever tend to send them earlier? I'm getting antsy and I don't want to wait that long...but I guess I must. The college in question is UVM, if it matters...
This is nerve-wracking!

Cal says late march, and by late march, they mean march 31, which is the latest possible.
so i would say if the school said within 21 days, you'll probably have to wait 21 business days, which is about a month.

I know it's hard to wait, so good luck!

It really depends on the school - did you apply EA or ED?

My D applied EA to 2 schools (Nov. 15 deadline for both) - sent them early Nov. Both sites said they send decisions by Dec. 15th. For one, (her #1 choice), she heard in about 3 days - by text message. She still hasn't heard anything form the other.

i didn't know colleges sent admissions decisions by text message. that seems too informal.

LOL - actually the text message was from the coach at the school - because he knew she was such a nervous wreck! As soon as he found out, he let her know. It was a very big day for her because she had just found out she received a special award that was very unexpected, got her report card which was outstanding and then she got the text message.

Her official letter came in the mail the next day.

My answer from JHU ED:

If I was going to get a decision in 21 days, I'd be thrilled. I imagine they probably don't send them out any sooner, though.
