My school doesn't participate in this program!! But I am so interested in gaining this award. What should I do? Am I still eligible?

bump!!! comon peoples!!! reply!

Your school can be added to the Rensselaer Medal program's participant list by completing the school profile form:

After you school is added as a Rensselaer Medal participant, they will be eligible to submit the name of one student for the award.

Also, accepted students are eligible for a bunch of other Merit based awards and merit based aid that RPI offers, and I believe they can range up as much as the 60k RPI Medal. (They used to give more details on the website, but I couldn't find it)
See http://www.rpi.edu/dept/admissions/aid/howtoapply.html

So do your best to get good grades etc and you will certainly reap benefits.

I agree with the above post. RPI is very generous with student aid but you have to earn it.

hell yea!!!
Thanks!

Er . . . do i need to apply to RPI if i needed the medal? Im a sophomore in hs now . . .

Well the idea was that if you can't get the RPI medal from your school, you can still apply to RPI and get merit based aid offered to you up to the an amount equivalent to the medal.

If he's still a sophomore, he's still got time to talk to his guidance counselor and try and have him register the school for the Medal. If he was a senior, I'd say its too late, but now, I'd suggest talking to the G.C.
