I've paid my deposit to SUNY Binghamton about a few months ago but I think I may have changed my mind and mgiht be more inclined to attending Pittsburgh now. Do any of you know if the deposit fee is refundable? If not, it's okay but I want to know if it's too late to switch schools or not.

Usually deposits are not refundable but look at their website to be sure. You can decide to attend Pitt up to May 1. I wouldn’t let a deposit stop you from switching. Were you ED at SUNY Bing or RD? If ED, then you may be obligated to go to SUNY.

If you are a New York State resident, look at Pitt’s costs carefully. Pitt is very expensive for out-of-staters. SUNY doesn’t have ED, to my knowledge, so that’s not a problem.

You have till may 1st and bing is prob not gonna give you your money back I’m almost certain the Majority of schools say the fee is unrefundable.

If he already enrolled in Bing it most likely had to be ED.

Bing was the last school DS heard from last year. Wasn’t until April.

At that point he was already enrolled in Pitt.

SUNY Binghamton offers nonbinding early action:

Early Action Deadline
Early action is a non-binding decision and Binghamton provides an admission decision by mid January 2011. Plan to take the ACT by late October 2010 or SAT by early November 2010 to assure we receive your scores electronically in enough time to review with your application.

Guess they brought EA back. Didn’t have it last year.

actually, nevermind what i said. thanks for all the responses though. and I’m OOS for both Bing and Pitt.
