I want to be a filmmaker and got into NYU Tisch; is it worth it to go?

I got into NYU Tisch Film & TV and I’m debating whether I should go. Is it worth it for someone who wants to be a filmmaker/screenwriter or would I be better off getting a degree in something else for “safety?”

If you are already in then you got in ED? That means you signed a binding commitment to attend if made an offer. The final date to accept the offer has passed so, did you accept and pay a deposit, or did you let your offer lapse?

How much does it cost? Can your parents pay for it without borrowing?

If you can afford it and not take on too much debt, then yes. But, really it is up to you.

I agree with @austinmshauri and @natty1988. The issue is whether you can afford this without taking on debt. I would not want to graduate as a potential filmmaker with any significant debt.

Another issue is what else would you study if not filmmaking?

Also, do you have more affordable options?
