What cluster should i be studying and what major should i be studying in so that I will be prepared for med school?

ill be a freshman next fall btw

a physician OR psychiatrist?

I will try not to be offended.

Take any cluster you’re sincerely interested in. Medical schools look for interesting, well rounded individuals who are ‘more than just science.’

BTW, carmondd and all pre meds, the MCAT is undergoing significant revision and there will be a whole new format for the MCAT starting in 2015. There will be 4 sections (instead of 3) and there will be significant emphasis on non-science subjects

You’ll have more than enough advice at school about classes to take. Don’t worry about it now.

Carmondd, a psychiatrist is a MD/physician who specializes in psychiatry. Since a psychiatrist is a MD he/she can prescribe medication, give patients electro convulsive therapy (ECT) plus deliver babies, perform CPR, give injections etc. A psychologist has a PhD in psychology. Many lay people are unaware of the difference, but it can a sore subject for psychiatrists who are often incorrectly not considered “real doctors.” Shrinkrap, I’m assume you are a psychiatrist as was my late father.
