So I initially had a plan to go to a California State School and major in Public Health, or Health Science. Because the material learned in both majors (for the majority of roadmaps I researched for CSUs) has relatively the same content. All the content is stuff that just calls my name and sounds fun and interesting to me personally. Then I remembered PA school…ugh. There are literally so many universities here in California that provide Graduate degrees for this. All of course which includes their own prereqs. I know, or at, I feel as though it would be impossible for me to find CSU which provides all the prereqs for PA school. But just out of curiosity, which degree (from a CSU) would cover a lot of the general prereqs for PA school. I would prefer something like Public Health or Health Science and not something more generic and not a strong stand-alone major like biology or chemistry (not trying to offend anyone calm down).
PA schools are very competitive so you should select a major that can be used as a backup in case PA school does not become a reality. Public Health would be a good major which should cover all or the majority of PA school requirements but you would need a Graduate degree in Public Health if you end up pursuing this career. Biology/Chemistry/Biochemistry are all good options but there is no one perfect major that will fulfill all the requirements depending upon the PA school and you may need to take a few additional courses regardless of where you go which could include General Education or Electives as part of your major program.
