I'm in my sophomore year of college and I'm 2 weeks into my sophomore year. First year, I was a nutrition major. But then over the summer one of my parents convinced me to change my major to computer science this year. So now I'm sitting through a bunch of computer classes and I absolutely hate it. And I'm already struggling.

The last day to change classes without financial penalty was the first week of school, though. Am I truly stuck this semester or is there any way that I can switch my classes back to nutrition classes this semester? Thank you.

Go talk to your adviser/counselor/important-person-in-an-office ASAP. This is easier to sort out sooner rather than later, since you’ve already missed at least a week of the classes you want to be enrolled in. The longer you wait, the worse your chances are.

As for whether or not you can, it depends on the school, the course, the professor, how much you’ve missed… too many factors to give a definite yes/no. But you need to go now if you want a chance.

I agree with failure622. Definitely go see your adviser now. You could possible change your classes with a financial penalty, but I have no idea what that penalty would be. The only people who will know if you can change your classes or not are the people at your school. Go talk to them.

If you can change your classes, do it. Otherwise, don’t just bomb the hell out of your classes. Try your hardest and then get the heck out of that major. Switch to something you can do. Should probably pick something else than nutrition, though. Or double major in nutrition and something practical.
