I want to go into the CyberSecurity field, and I am struggling to find colleges and places to look.

Hey, as you saw from the title, I want to go into the CyberSecurity field, and I am struggling to find colleges that I can apply for, I am currently a freshman, but I want to know in advance, my school provides basically no computer courses, but I am taking as many as I can. And I have all As in my classes, so I just need help with getting colleges that have a Masters degree program in Cyber Security. The only one I know of is NC State, So I want to apply there. Are there any resources that I can look into to find colleges with what I want from them?

Thank you so much in advance

UMD College Park?

Look at George Washington University in DC.

I will look into this one, thank you very much.

Thank you, I have heard about it, but always forgot to actually look at it, and yeah I see a cybersecurity program there, thank you so much

NSA links to a list of colleges all around the country (but when I tried the link, my iphone warned" its certificate isn’t verified."
https://www.nsa.gov/resources/students-educators/centers-academic-excellence/#defense

But UNC Charlotte and Wilmington have programs, besides NC State.

Here are some other pages on the NSA site that may be helpful:

https://www.nsa.gov/resources/students-educators/

Current Centers of Academic Excellence in Cyber Operations (note some schools only offer master’s degrees in cybersecurity type majors)
https://www.nsa.gov/resources/students-educators/centers-academic-excellence/cae-co-centers/

Current NSA featured school partners

Also look at this CC thread, there are probably others too:

You might also consider a computer science major…look at course offerings and see if there is enough offered in cybersecurity to be of interest.

Good luck.

Why do you want a master degree in cyber security? Maybe what you need to do is to transfer now to different university where you can study cyber security now.

College Navigator finds 72 places that offer bachelor level studies in cyber security topics. One of them could work for you: https://nces.ed.gov/collegenavigator/?s=all&p=43.0116+29.0207&ct=1+2&ic=1

I want to study it because I know that it is a growing field, and I am interested in computers and security in general, so I think that is a good field for me. And I dont think I explained myself correctly here, I am a freshman in high school, Im just looking ahead right now.

But thank you so much for the link

Alright, I will look at that link and will look at UNC Charlotte and Wilmington for the programs, as I am in state for those too.

Thank you so much

Thank you so much for all of these links and the info! It will really help me a lot! I appreciate it!

Another approach is to go to the csrankings website. Turn “all areas” off, and then turn on “computer security”. Then change the range of years to just recent years. You can then pick some of the top ranked universities from the list and google their masters degree programs in cybersecurity. Also, by clicking on the blue triangles you can see the list of cybersecurity professors at each university and check out their publications.

Looks like the SSL/TLS certificate on www.iad.gov (the site of the link in question) is based on the DoD Root CA 3, which is not a default trusted root certificate in typical browsers.

https://apps.nsa.gov/iaarchive/help/certificates.cfm has more information on this.

Northeastern University in Boston.

Stevens in Hoboken, NJ

Purdue Polytechnic offers this major.

https://www.sfs.opm.gov/StudDefault.aspx

Look into this program, you might get a scholarship for up to three years at a participating institution and then work for the government for the number of years you received a scholarship.

There should be a list of the participating institutions somewhere on the website.

Jackpot ! The University of Hawaii at Manoa !

Univ. of Illinois

Univ. of Texas at San Antonio / UT-Dallas / UT-El Paso

Auburn

Univ. of Arizona

University of Tulsa

Texas A&M

Northeastern (Boston)

Univ. of Nebraska–Omaha

In another CC thread, Purdue was mentioned.

Two others:

Carnegie Mellon University

The United States Air Force Academy

^ No Master’s programs at USAFA.
