I want to go to a boarding school.

A 90 is a 90, a 75 a 75, and a 64 a 64 in more Universal terms. :)

The two most common methods I have seen are Burb Parent's, and the one listed by Tommeister and I.

What marks are considered good by boarding schools? One school(Arts School) said you should have at least a 70% average to apply, but isn't that a C average then?

I think that's probably the minimum that they will consider.

This is the grading system that I know:

93-100 A
85-92 B
77-84 C
70-76 D
Below 70 F

Grading at my school:

A: 90-100
B: 89-80
C: 79-70
D: 69 - 60
F: 59 or lower

and BTW - a 69% is bad any way you put it... prep schools want top students, not one's that get D's.

Yeah I know 69 is terrible, and the thing was I could have easily pulled it up to a 75-80%, if i did the homework...oh well. I've changed, i'm really concentrating on school now:)

That's cool.

Yeah..that's another thing that don't want. Slackers. Common sense, dude. :)

Could you guys go back on topic and see if I can go to NHM or Stevenson?

Jonathan, I hope your joking, I'm honestly not really a slacker. Unless it's not worth my time to try...

Tymel, sorry, I take over people's threads all the time....really sorry...

Well you said you didn't do your homework. To me, that's what slackers do.

Tymel, apply to Stevenson. It seems like a great school. You'll never find out until you apply. :) Good luck.

Well, yeah I didn't do my homework but I totally,TOTALLY HATe, math... Trust me I'm hard wroking other then that(usually)
Anyway, I was just joking I don't care if u call me a slacker:)

Here is the list of schools that im intrested.
Stevenson**
The Masters School
NHM

Tymel - It's NMH - Northfield Mount Hermon (not NHM).

What are you looking for in a school?

I would like to have genetics and english literature and japanese as one of the courses, and stevenson has all of that.

My average in 9th grade was probally a C. This year its going to be a A.
Whats my chances of getting into Stevenson?

How do you know your average is going to be an A?

That's pretty hard to believe that you're gonna get an A average this year, but you got C's last year.

Maybe you should consider some lower tier schools with 75%+ acceptance rates.

Thats what I wanted you guys to list for me, since I cant find them.

If you can help me find some it will be greatly appreciated. The higher the acceptence rate the better. =]

Dude, just use www.boardingschoolreview.com or peterson's.

Here's a list of schools that show their acceptance rate. (if it doesn't work.. just uncheck everything except acceptance rate.

http://www.boardingschoolreview.com/school_ranking.php

i think that you should look at loomis chaffee
i go there and i absolutly love it
i have gotten into so many activityies that i never imagined...
and over 1/3 of the students r on finantial aid

Loomis is a great school, but they may be very concerned about your 9th grade C average. I would think that any bs would be concerned with your 9th grade racord. was there a reason for the drop? You'll want to address this issue with bs if there a good reason (sickness, death in the family or ?). I wish you well!

NOTE: On one occasion I wished somebody well and they thought I was being harsh/ negative toward them. If you ever read a well wish from me, it's from the heart.

Hey, Well i don't know if any of you guy can help me out or not because I'm not in the States, I'm in Canada but I am looking for a boarding school in BC but my family is not rich. Can anyone help me out?

Brentwood College School. Right on the Pacific, it looks AMAZING. http://www.brentwood.bc.ca/
