So Pomona only recently came onto my radar, and it almost immediately became my first choice. It seems like the perfect school to me, and I really want to go there. The problem is, by the time I came to this conclusion the deadline for scheduling an interview had ended.

Now, I live in Alaska and I'm not sure if they even offer interviews here, but nonetheless, how will this hurt my chances? What can I do to show my interest in the college? Would it be wise to email the admissions officer for my state to express my interest? I could apply ED2, but I want to keep my options open in case I decide to go somewhere else for some reason (even though Pomona truly seems the best to me now). Speaking of which, would ED2 boost my chances significantly or at all, or will it not matter?

I'm coming to this in light of a recent rejection from the school I applied EA to (although that school was much harder to get into than Pomona, even with Pomona's already very low acceptance rate). As such, I don't want to screw up this app and not get into my top college because I didn't get a chance to interview or I don't seem as interested as I truly am.

So, should I email the admissions officer? Write a paragraph or something stating my interest somewhere in the application? Do nothing? Or is there some other way to express how great my interest truly is?

EDIT: Also, I just remembered and thought I might as well throw this in. Will they see/take into account my grades for this semester? Chances are this semester will give a considerable boost in my GPA which could possibly help with admission, and I'm just curious if they will or if it even matters, although this is not what I'm primarily concerned with.
