with an SAT score of 1870, a high sch gpa of 3.7....
this is my first semester in my college and i made a gpa of 3.714 also...
but i really want to go to Yale, ive always admired Yale...its a school that complements me in every way, i dont see yale as the third best sch in the world or one of the ivies...just a sch that i know is where my heart is..im goin to apply for a transfer for fall '10.....
i know my chances are really slim but any advice anyone...i need all the help i can get

Anyone please…

I might be wrong, but I don’t think Yale is accepting transfers. And with your stats, your chance of getting in is close to zero.

Wrong, it’s H that currently is not accepting transfers; Y is, with an acceptance rate of about 2-4%.

Right.

While your college gpa is alright for yale transfer consideration, your hs scores are low. if you want, you could keep up your grades for another year, and then try to transfer as junior transfer applications put more emphasis on your college work than your high school work. however, overall transferring to yale is very very difficult.

Where do you currently go to school?

@ Mvingi :University of Texas at Arlington
What if I have like really good letters of recommendation, say from Yale staff…would that increase my chances?

Good letters can only help an application – not sure how much Yale staff will help, but as long as the letters are good, I don’t think it can hurt.

So what would you recommend?..
suggest other schools, or give it a shot?

say Dartmouth, Stanford, WASHU, Brown?..lol…sorry I dream big…

Where do you go currently? When they ask why you need to transfer to Yale what would you say? You have to have a solid reason you need something that yale can provide but your current school cannot.

Thanx danjinc…

and I go to the University of Texas at Arlington.

Don’t waste your time

Sorry but not everyone is meant for Yale.

true…any recomendations?

bahahahahahahahha

Unless you have a yet undisclosed hook, you have almost no chance of being accepted.

Seriously your scores just show you that you are not strong enough for Yale. It is one of the toughest schools period, how do u expect to survive in an environment like that?

They would be worth a try after 2 years if you can raise the SAT score.
