<p>It’s true, but it’s not necessarily the ONLY truth. </p>
<p>Environmental Engineering is a really big one though - they want as many great thinkers as possible to solve current and future problems.</p>

<p>You can major in anything if you want to innovate. However, if you want to innovate in a relatively new or cutting edge area, Enviro Engineering will only become more important. As would biotech.</p>
<p>Engineering, computer science, information technology, chemistry, physics, applied physics, telecommunications, materials science, medical sciences</p>
<p>But, you can be innovative in any field…the arts, business, education, social sciences, you name it…by coming up with new ideas or cross-fertilizing ideas from different fields. Innovation can be theoretical. It does not always have to do with inventions.</p>
<p>some people have told me to do business double major of engineering…is that a good idea??</p>
<p>Sure, but ONLY if it’s something you’re intersted in. Because business is so different from engineering, a double-major would require a very heavy course load. If you’re okay with this, go for it. </p>
<p>Personally, I think it would be better to go with an engineering major and business minor.</p>
