Hi @Ali3! What are you planning on studying?

@Ali3

Stanford is amongst THE most competitive colleges for admission in the U.S. Acceptance rates are well below 10% overall, and likely less than that for international students.

Even with perfect grades and perfect standardized test scores, and excellent LOR and essays, there is no way to “get into Stanford”. You just need to apply and see.

But before you apply….what are your grades like? Have you taken the SAT or ACT? What sorts of honors do you have? What are your areas of high interest and what have you done to cultivate them?

No one knows what Stanford wants, but we do know that there are very few seats available. It’s one of the best universities in the U.S., so every top student applies- that means a minimum of 35K students from the US alone.
To even have a chance, you need to be:

  1. The best student in your country.
  2. Be internationally well-known (i.e.: Olympian, socialist like Malala/Greta)
  3. Well-regarded for positive impact/change in your country.
  4. Be able to pay.
Even this list is not enough to indicate that you will be admitted. It’s a crap shoot and very tough.

How strong a student are you? How do your grades compared with other students in your high school and other students in your country?

Why do you want to attend Stanford? What do you know about Stanford, and what do you expect it will be like studying at Stanford?

Why Stanford? There are tons of other colleges in this country. Why this one?

First, Stanford is ONE out of 3,700 colleges in the US. You can’t possibly apply to that one only.

Second, are you in a French pattern school (or the lycée français) and what are your current grades? Are you a shoo in for a mention TB?

Third, how are you extraordinary? What have you done that makes you unique among all kids* in Morrocco?
*Are you a boy or a girl?

I m looking forward to studying programming and computer science

no I still didn’t take none of these tests but have some summer intensive programs to prepare for it

soo there 's noway to get into Stanford unie ?

@Ali3

When do you plan to take the ACT or SAT?

Computer science is a most competitive major for admissions.

What have you done in high school that would distinguish you from other applicants?

please can you show me some great Universities compared to Stanford in computer science and aeronautical engineering?

What is your college budget for paying?

in august and what’s make me different from other applicants is that I have a special life story : from poverty into wellness, I think it may be interesting

9 000 $ I guess

Two kids that got into Stanford from our high school in the past few years, one is an African- American girl who just competed in the U.S. Olympic trials for track and is pre-med. The other is a white girl whose brother attends Stanford and she is very politically active in her school and the community (social justice, feminism, local election campaigns). Good luck!

It’s not really a unique story, unless you found a way to earn money yourself? Tell us a bit more.

Can you answer the questions about your schooling and grades?

9K is a lot for Morrocco, but it is another problem since Stanford is need aware for internationals. :frowning:

There are LOTS of excellent universities for CS that also offer scholarships:
Smith, Scripps (if you’re a girl)
Amherst
Washington&Lee (Johnson Scholarship)
Brandeis
Lewis&Clark
Bucknell
Lafayette
UMinnesota
UAlabama
UCincinnati (co-ops)

Basically any university in Princeton Review’s Top Colleges will offer a decent CS program. Until we know more about your qualifications, it’s hard to suggest a decent list.
Typically, you’d start by finding 2 safeties: two universities you can afford that offer your desired program of study and where you’re sure, due to stats, you’ll get in.
Then, you find about 5 matches: those would admit about 40-50% applicants (they’ll be way more selective for internationals), be affordable, and place you around the top 25% for stats.
Finally, you add reaches and dream schools (such as Stanford).

What do you plan to do with these degrees?

As a non-US resident, your work options are extremely limited for your Visa.

I would like to know how you get into Stanford too. Then I could make a lot of money as a “college consultant”. :face_with_monocle:

Lots of opportunities for all in CS.
Very few in aeronautical engineering due to visa issues.
