I want to know more about other Brown students

My sister wants to teach at Vassar lol

Probably. I love the "academic environment" and don't want to enter the real world for another eight years. But my interests could change in the next four.

Count on it. Even high school teachers need a MA. I might look into law school, but I don't think I'd like being a lawyer. A law professor might be cool though. I would love to be a supreme court justice, but that's shooting maybe a bit high :). Seriously though, that's like me dream job. Graduate school doesn't look as fun as undergrad though, since most grad students seem to be poor and starving.

Yes, Brown is where all the fun will take place!

Yeah, there's always that issue of money. Stupid society! My parents agreed to pay for college for me (with fin aid help) but they're not going to pay for grad school.

My parents might pay if they had the money, but they never, ever will...

For college?

Graduate school.

I'm on my own for grad school too. If you're good enough, you'll get funding anyway, so we'll just all have to be awesome in our respective fields!

So, which dorms are you hoping for, soccart7?

Yes, RaboKarabekian. We must work hard!

I don't care which dorm building I get. I guess Keeney because that's where the largest number of freshman live. But it's out of my control, anyway. What about you guys?

Yeah, just choose a random unpopular subject for grad school like 17th century british art restoration, and you'll get free tuition.

I am liking Hope College, but I'd be happy anywhere (except maybe Perkins).

"17th century british art restoration"

I could definitely dig that lol

Maybe I could work at the Met someday...or as an appraiser on "Antiques Road Show" lol

I'd still be poor though :(

Or you could become a starving artist and not go to grad school at all. That's one of my goals.

lol But I like food!

What about "food for thought." That's far more delicious than real food. Except for maybe cheesecake and indian food.

I guess you are pretty lucky to live so (relatively) close to Brown. You can go home pretty often, if you want. I will have to fly back home whenever I can manage it.

Hey! i'm a female (heterosexual). i'm from new jersey. i want to major in physics. i used to love to write, but my english teacher is the devil. she doesn't like how i write, and she's made a few insulting remarks about my writing in front of the class. i now tend to associate her with writing, so, needless to say, i don't really like to write anymore. onto happier topics. i eat fish and white meat, but i don't eat red meat. does that make me a quasi-vegetarian? i'm liberal. i'm sure bush is a good person and all, but i don't like the way he's running our country. i completely disagree with his plans for social security, among other things. i support gay marriage. (i don't support gay dominance, but i don't support straight dominance either.) my parents want me to be a doctor when i grow up, but i would rather do research in cosmology. but if i do end up in medicine, i would like to be a radiologist. i like to sing and act, and right now i'm in my school musical, rodgers & hammerstein's cinderella. i'm also an emt on my town's first aid squad. it's a lot of fun, but it's very humbling.

ok, if i think of anything else, i'll share. :)
