I want to know more about Villanova

I got my acceptance letter from Villanova University College of Commerce and

Finance. I was also accepted to bentley, american, indiana, and syracuse for

business program but after reading #'s of CC post i found that many people were

interested in Villanova. I decided to go to Villanova because… How many

appliccants did Villanova have this year and how many were admitted? Will an

Asian fit in? How is the social life at villanova? School spirit? campus and

campus life? Please leave some inputs on my post. THX =P

Also, the educational system, academic level and such.. =] thx

You decided to go to Villanova because they had the most amount of applicants and least amount of aceptances. Nice pick...NOT. You sohuld look at how reputable the business program is. If you did your research you would realize that Bentley has a much better business program in terms of reputation as well as rankings. Even higher then that is Indiana which is a top 10 business school and has a fantastic atmosphere. Villanova is also known as Vanillanova because there are hardly any minorities there and it probably would not be the best fit in terms of diversity for an Asian student.

guess it'd be hard for you to fit in as an asian. I went there to visit, and ate in the cafeteria, and let me tell ya, everyone there is white, and wearing american eagle and abercrombie and fitch clothing. the only african americans there are probably on the sports team, and you have a mandatory religion course. sucks to tell ya truth

to be honest I'd pick Bentley or Indina in part because they have two of the best business programs out of the schools you were accepted to. Bentley is only a business focused school so if you know you want to study business 100% and want to be close to Boston that should be your pick and if you want the true college atmosphere like major Division I athletics, with a huge campus and thousands upon thousands of kids I'd pick Indiana.

Just for comparison purposes:

Villanova University Master's Universities North Rank: 1
Average SAT: 1180-1330
Undergraduate Business Program Rank: 104

Bentley College Master's Universities North Rank: 8
Average SAT: 1120-1280
Undergraduate Business Program Rank: 57

This goes to show you that although one school may have higher statistics overall it may not be best for your interest. If it happens to be business then a difference of 60 points in average SAT score won't do anything and you can see that Bentley's business program is clearly more recognized then Villanova's.

haha, dunkaroo are you probably had a dilemma between villanova and bentley... from what i hear.. villanova is a lot better =] that's why i chose villanova and yeah... too many white can get me sick but im sure there are asians

yeah your right that is what it came down to. My decision was easier then expected because I prefer Boston to Philly and Bentley is ranked significantly higher for business. I didn't really care about liberal arts too much so I went for the all-business path.

I don't know but at Villanova I think there are maybe 5% asians at max and they all tend to segregate themselves from the rest of the community. Villanova is better then Bentley for the liberal arts by a wide margin obviously considering one is a liberal arts focused school while the other is a business school. You may want to recheck your sources for whoever said that Villanova was a lot better then Bentley if they were meaning the liberal arts then yes they were correct but if they meant business they should re-do their homework because that is not correct.

Well, i really dont consider ranking that significant in this college choosing process. Ranking should only give us a sense of what colleges we should apply to. Bentley is a great school but in my opinion, for both liberal and business program... Villanova is the right choice. My preference only.

I think if you want to major in something liberal arts related go to Villanova. If you want to major in something business related go to Bentley. That is just my personal preference to it and is part of the reason why I picked Bentley because I want to do something business related.

Either way they are both good schools and none is better or worse to a point where it should be worth rethinking your choice.

yeah, both are good. D= hope you do well at Bentley Dunkaroo

same to you at Villanova
