i read somewhere on this board that if you don't make it to med school or continue on to grad. school, you're screwed. :(

Physics majors are often seen as desirable candidates in quantitatively-oriented Wall Street firms.

If you want to major in physics, and you think you'll do well in physics, you should major in physics. You can always take some computer coursees on the side if you're worried about a job out of college.

Explore it and see what you like. I considered being a physics major but mechanics bored me to death. Now give me some subquantum theory and I'm good, but I couldnt sit through three years of mechanics. LOL. As far as your concern about not getting a job, most people are not currently working in the field they majored in. Use college to find your passion. You might find its not what you expected it to be.

"As far as your concern about not getting a job, most people are not currently working in the field they majored in. "

And a lot of them regret not choosing a more marketable major or at least not acquiring some marketable skills in college.
