I want to major in Physics

Im going into junior year and picking a schedule, would this be good if I want to major in physics (go to a UC)

Precalc
H. Theology
AP CS principles
Ap physics 1
Ap chem or Ap bio
H. US History 2
H. English 11
Gym

For me to be able to take ap chem or bio i have to drop spanish 3 honors (I have taken two years of spanish at the normal level)
I will be taking art history to satisfy the art requirement senior year.

I would not take 2 science AP classes in the same year and would keep Spanish 3 if you are targeting the UC’s.
Have you taken Honors Bio or Chem? If so, save either AP course for Senior year. If not, I would take one science during the summer if possible. It is best to have a three sciences on your transcript but they do not need to be all AP classes

You may not want to take AP Physics, sometimes AP credits do not transfer for Major classes. Do some research and check on that.

Even if AP physics does not transfer it might be a good idea to take it and get some familiarity with the materials before College. That being said, most college curricula won’t require you to have taken AP Physics.

It might be good to keep Spanish on. At least for UC Berkeley (I’m a freshman), you have to take 2 semesters of a language unless you’ve taken 3 years of high school language (or equivalent). Double check with your preferred UC schools.

UCs require level 2 and prefer level 3 or higher of high school foreign language for frosh applicants. Note that physics is usually in a division which has a foreign language requirement to graduate, so completing a higher level in high school may help you complete the foreign language requirement in fewer courses in college.
