I want to major in Pol. Sci!

Is it easier to get accepted as a pol sci major if you do extracurriculars in a simliar direction?
i love politics club.

nope, it won’t make a bit of difference.

Why would LeBron James want to be a Poli Sci major?

Anyways, are you a HS student applying to colleges and want to major in Poli Sci? Or are you already at a school and want to be accepted into their program?

If you are a HS student, just get accepted into a school you will be happy attending and find out what their requirements are to enroll in their Poli Sci program. Some schools don’t allow you to declare until your sophmore year, others have “pre” programs and other let you enroll right out of the gate.

BTW LeBron, you should check out the University of Chicago, after all that’s where your gonna be living at next season!

Thank you!
U of Chicago EXCITES ME!!!

best,

Yeah, it does help

much of the ‘polisci’ ECs available are usually just used as blatant resume ornaments. however, if you’re interested in things like debate, mock trial, Model UN, etc, by all means, get involved.

It’s not like you’re gonna be rejected or accepted from somewhere based on whether or not you did one of these sorts of ECs. But for me, participation in debate and Model UN contributed to a great deal of personal growth that gave me an idea of what i wanted to study (which will be IR at Tufts this fall, after a very difficult decision between that and Uchicago)
