I want to save money using AP scores

@CaliCash I got in Purdue Engineering bro

Congratulations!

The most ap credit from two classes that you could potentially receive is 8 credit hours. However, not all schools give ap credit and engineering they for the most part give less. However, on each college website you can look up their ap credit policy.

@scubadive it really depends on the school. At OU my D will get 10 credits for her a five on the AP Chem exam (two classes), 13 credits for a five on the AP German exam (three classes) and if she takes the CLEP she could earn an additional 3 credit for another German class. She can get 21 credits for AP music theory if she make a five in all sections (very unlikely for her).

However i still doubt an engineering school is going to give more than 8 credits for the two particular AP’s he specifically mentioned.

Thanks for help everyone

@Ryanite congratulations!

A happy ending, nice.

thanks @IneffableMind @jackrabbit14

@OP
Just some friendly advice: if you want help in this forum, it would behoove you to check your arrogance at the door.

@GMTplus7 I apologize for that and also I have been behaving kind then after.
I have also thanked everyone.

Do you have your financial aid packages yet? You said you have $25K per year. I assume you have to cover travel and health insurance out of that, too.

It’s October. I think he’s already there?

No
Purdue doesn’t give aid early. They said they will give probably in first semester if I am eligible. International students are only eligible for merit based scholarships. I will have to take loans to attend Purdue and do some internships.

I am a fall 2016 applicant. @redpoodles

So their estimate of tuition, room & board, and other items is $44,154 plus $2,000 engineering fee, probably plus health insurance expense (most US universities require it, cost will be at least $1,000/year). You said you have $100K for all years. Do you think you can (or should) borrow over $80,000 to attend Purdue? That is a lot of debt. Far more than anyone here would recommend that a US student take on.

@intparent The total cost of attendance at Purdue for engineering is 45k per year and I can afford 35k per year. Total debt for four years is 40k for four years which could be covered with part time jobs and internships. Dont you think so? Give your opinion. Seriously, you scared me with the above comment. I am an indian international applicant.

Insurances, food, clothing and all miscellaneous stuff covered in 45k dollars. My budget has increased from 25k to 35k

When I look at the Purdue website, I don’t see insurance included in the costs listed for international students. You should ask Purdue what is required. I also notice they have less than $400 for travel costs, which seems low. You can’t take out US federal loans, so do or your parents have the ability to borrow what you need?

@intparent that’s why i added. 8000 usd extra to their quoted price. But you are American and you know American cost more than me. I find your comments valuable. According to you, what should be the cost of attendance for an international student then?
