I Want To Show Interest!

So i have heard a good way to do so is to email your local admissions counselor for the school to which you are applying. I in no way want to sound whiny or irratating so basically i do not know what to say in my email to them? Any advice? What kind of question i could ask to get the conversation rolling? How do i show interest... ahh i want to i just dont know what to say!

thanks guys.

It really depends on the schools to which you're interested. The most selective schools don't track this whatsoever so "demonstrated interest" is irrelevant -- they have no lack of ability to generate great applications.

However some LACs and smaller schools (who need to actively pursue and court viable candidates) are scouring for good kids. If you are interested in one of these schools, then it's a two-way street. In these circumstances, they'll keep tabs on kids who visit campus, visit info sessions.

Maybe post a list of schools you're considering?

Regardless, start assembling a list of criteria for the type of college you'd like to attend. Issues such as:

urban/rural, social scene, class sizes, diversity of student body, school size, regional location, strength of potential areas of study, research opportunity, affordability, specifics about school's resources, etc.

Then you need to discover this stuff from their literature and webpages. Then any unfulfilled questions, contact the appropriate personnel.
