I want to sign up for upper div History class/96-97 series but I can't?

<p>So even though it's 2nd pass, the 96-97 series and all history upper divs are limited to History, Pre History, etc. majors only. </p>

<p>I need to take the 96-97 series as a pre req to get into the history major. The problem is that I'm a Pre-Political Science major who is going to double major in history. I haven't completed my pre reqs for Poli Sci yet (I'm about to be a 2nd year) so I couldn't have declared myself with any affiliation with history yet. How am I ever suppose to take the 96-97 series if I have to be Pre History to take it? Do I have to change majors for a quarter in order to take it or something?</p>

<p>As for upper div history classes, even though I'm unofficially double majoring in History, is there any way for me to take an upper div right now? I need to find a 4th class and all upper div Poli Sci classes are full and almost all GEs except 2 LS GEs are workable with my schedule (and I really don't wanna take these 2 LS GEs)</p>

<p>Awe I called them just awhile ago. They said they possibly could give me a PTE number, but I have to go to the department building on campus. I can’t go to LA anytime soon and to drive out there for a 50% chance is kinda lame :(</p>
