Good morning everyone, I have a question: I'm a 17 (soon to be 18) years old student from Italy who is in 11th grade. I was thinking about applying to a community college since I know some of them don't require you a high school diploma. I would like to apply after I finish 11th grade and I turn 18 and then move to the USA and do my 2 years at a community college instead of studying another 2 years in Italy (high school here is 5 years), then doing another 2 years in a community college (so basically I want to save 2 years). In legal terms, is it possible to drop school here in Italy and attend a community college in the USA and get accepted ?My goal would be to find a job and live in the USA. I have someone who's willing to hire me as a truck driver and I could get my Commercial Driver License in a community college as far as I know. Would I be able to do this ?Thanks in advance, I wish you all happy holidays ! :)

Happy holidays! There don’t seem to be many Italians here interested in coming to the US to be truck drivers, so I remember your last post where you did seem to get some useful advice.

If some community colleges do not require a diploma then I think you could do it, just keep in mind not to apply to very selective schools. You know how competition is nowadays to get into a US University, and without a diploma I think it would be really hard to get in. :)

You might have a problem work legally in USA. Check with an immigration lawyer.

In addition, do you need financial aid? How much money do you have? Community college with OOS tuition will cost some thing like $20,000 a year, include living expenses.
