I want to study Korean Studies/History

Is there any graduate programs that exist in this field? My undergrad school (University of Washington) had one until the late James Palais retired.

Or am I just doomed?

Harvard has the best I think, and U of Chicago might also have a program, as Bruce Cumings is there I think. I know Penn also offers several courses in the subject, I've taken one or two as an undergrad, not sure if there is a coherent program though.

here's a link I found:
<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Korean_studies%5B/url%5D">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Korean_studies</a></p>

I have a friend in the field. I will send you a private message with his email address. Tell him I referred you and ask him directly.

If you're willing to leave America, there is always the University of London, SOAS (School of Oriental and African Studies). In that particular field, it's up there with Harvard and such.

Unfortunately, it seems like most of those schools don't have a graduate program.

So far I've got:

U. of Chicago (maybe. I can't tell if its a full blown field or not)
University of Hawaii
UCLA (Though it seems pretty limited)
Columbia

I'm e-mailing Prof. X's source to get more info.
