Thanks guys!

nobody? please?

wharton/Sloan: maybe; you're in good shape tho
Stern: probably, well over 50%
Mich/Tepper: 99.9%
Haas: almost for sure if you are in state but pretty good shape even if you're not

Stambliark, Michigan's Ross Business school will be accepting applicants directly next year. If thatis the case, I would say that the applicant has a 50/50 chance. If the applicant applies to Michigan's LSA, I agree, his chances are like 90% in favor of getting into Michigan.

Thanks for the info, Alexandre. I was wondering how tough it was going to be to get into Ross directly myself. That's a good insight.

Thanks guys, I'm excited bout the new straight-to-bba at mich, cuts out suspense

Ross will be mega selective. I would be surprised if the acceptance rate was over 25% and the mean SAT under 1400. It may not be as selective as Wharton but it will certainly be as selective as other top 4 or 5 programs.

So would that make at a bargain, even for out of staters?

bargain as hard to get in, or bargain as financially?

Your resume is good, but not all that impressive. Looks like every Wharton applicant's resume. What distinguish you is your outside of school activities. Anything that involves school and academics, some one else will have. Play up the stuff only you have and no one else. Also essays and recommendations are very important. It introduce your personality to the school you are applying. Keep in mind, they want to know why you will be beneficial to the student body. Extraordinary experiences, and opinions are important as well. I know this one guy who got into Harvard (not just this one thing) because he voiced his opinion as a gay chinese american in his well developed sophisticated essay.

I was asking if it is a bargain financially, as Michigan is only abt 20k a yr compared to other top schools that are 30k.

stambliark: i think umich is 20k only for instate, 35k for out of state. Wharton, Sloan, and such are all 40k+.

oh by 20,000 i was not including dorm costs, books, etc (was just refering to tuition) the #s you give seem accurate.
