I was accepted to GT for the summer and I have a problem

Today I got my results for Georgia Tech. I'm not really sure why, but I was accepted for the summer. My GPA is a 3.92 and I have a 2210 SAT as well as a slew of leadership experience in high school. Anyhow, I'm not here to argue about my admission.

I have a problem with being accepted for the summer. 2 weeks before the summer semester, I am getting a double jaw surgery that will put me out of commission for 6 weeks or more. It is impossible for me to go in the summer. Is there anything I can do to try to start in the fall? I really want to go to Tech but this major surgery might make me unable to attend.

You will have to write to them and explain this special situation. Offer to provide documentation from your doctor. If they are your first choice, let them know. I hope that they will work with you in this situation.

GT only has so many spots for the fall. So what they do is they put some kids in the summer slots. From what I’ve read it’s you are admitted only if you start in the summer. I would call and explain everything and back it up with the doctors info. Hopefully they will work with you.
