1730 SAT, 4.8 unweighted GPA on a 6.0 scale, 4 AP classes, 6 varsity letters, 2 years of team captain, 4 clubs, 1 committee, other various accomplishments outside of school. What do I have to do to get in?
My high school is a boarding school which I have been at for four years
Honestly, your stats are very low for Richmond. But they must have liked something for them to give you the deferral vs a straight out rejection. If you have some new grades to share, perhaps have your GC send those. And if your GC has a good relationship with the school, ask her to speak with admissions to get some feedback.
It’s first and foremost about the grades and test scores. You weren’t rejected so you must be borderline. See if your GC can help. A stellar fall quarter might make a difference if it’s part of an upward trend.
Your academic stats look to be low for URichmond. Hopefully you applied to some schools that are more of an academic fit.

thanks that’s really helpful (sarcasm)

I’m not sure what else you want people to say.
As a current UR student, I can tell you that it’s going to be very hard for you to get admitted because of your GPA and SATs.
Also, asking “what do I do to get in” in February of your senior year is too late. There’s nothing you can do at this point. The only thing that could possibly help your admissions at this point would be stellar mid year grades, but again, it’s February and those have presumably been finalized or are very close to finalized (not in a time frame where you could significantly change your grades).
@mikeyrich16 If you know your SATs are well below the 25% mark for a school you have been deferred to, I’m not sure why you posted this or what you expected anyone to tell you. Had you come to the forum earlier in the process people may have had more constructive ideas (ex try the ACT, apply to a couple of test optional schools). As things stand there is nothing you can do to at this late date to improve what you seem to already know is the weakest part of your application. If you were looking to be coddled, unfortunately you came to the wrong place. (exasperation).
