I was dismissed with only two more quarters left to finish degree

I’m a fourth year student, but I need an additional two quarters to obtain my degree. I’m also a transfer student. I spent two years in community college first, then I attended UCD for two more years. My first year I did well. I had a 3.1 GPA. My second year I messed up, my grades dropped below a 2.0 for two consecutive quarters and I my academic standing was set to subject to dismissal. I met with an adviser, and was given a chance to continue, but I messed that up too. Now I have been dismissed, but I only need two more quarters.

If I want a degree, what are my options? Is it even worth finishing my degree at this point? My GPA is around a 2.5. With only two quarters left, and at the rate I’ve been going, I won’t be able to raise my GPA much higher than that unless I retake some classes. But how do I even get back in?

Look into Open Campus. It allows students that have been dismissed to improve their GPA for readmission to the university. However, the disadvantage is that each unit costs $300 and Open Campus students aren’t eligible for financial aid, so it’s very expensive and probably not cost-effective for you. I’m surprised they dismissed you even though your overall GPA is a 2.5, though.

^they dismissed because he was on AP/SD for consecutive quarters.
